Our Story
The story behind the name
Before the foundation of Nuestra Familia Medical Center, Dr Fernandez and his wife knew they wanted a company name that was meaningful. They wanted a name that reflected their personal values, passion for patient care, and aspirations to serve the community. It didn’t take long for them to realize that “family” was the most important aspect of their lives, and that they wanted to make that the theme or center of the company. Their mission became to create a culture of unity, service, and hospitality where patients and staff would feel like they are part of their own family. In 2016 Nuestra Familia Medical Center was born from this vision of providing the highest quality of care and compassion to patients.
Nuestra Familia opened its new building on October 1, 2019, in Hialeah, FL. The center has an extensive clinical area where several specialists offer their medical services, such as cardiologist, optometrist, psychiatrist, pain management, dentist.
In addition, there’s a separate recreational site created for the enjoyment of all patients called the Wellness Center. In this area our patients come on a daily basis to entertain themselves by playing dominoes, listening to music, watching tv or simply to enjoy being in the company of friends. On other occasions we gather to celebrate birthdays and other festivities, to play bingo, and many other activities for their entertainment and satisfaction.
